20 PPB NO2Сенсор (низкое разрешение)

Prana air NO2 sensor works on this principle of electrochemical gas sensing. sensors are precise and have been used in multiple research operations. Our products are known to be reliable and long-lasting when it comes to long-term continuous monitoring. These sensors are made to last for a long time in harsh situations both indoor and outdoor.

NO2 gas usually gets in the air from the burning of fuel like emissions from cars, buses, trucks, factories, etc. Its presence in the air contributes to forming of air pollutants. This is a very harmful gas that can cause respiratory infections and asthma, even reducing crop yields of agricultural activities.

Nitrogen Dioxide is an air pollutant with a pungent odor. The color of gas is reddish-brown, brown, or yellow. The gas is highly oxidant in nature and reacts with materials that are combustible and reduceable. The reaction can result in the formation of nitric acid and nitric oxide. The sources of nitrogen dioxide are the combustion of fossil fuels, vehicular emissions, welding activities, use of explosives, refining industry such as metal and petrol, volcanoes, and bacterial activity.

Why to Choose Nitrogen Dioxide (NO2) Sensor ?

The sensor is small in size having ultra-thin packaging that eases the fit in big and handheld devices for monitoring.

The sensor has about 10 years (a decade) of operational life outlasting other sensors available on the market.

Highly Responsive

The sensor has a swift response time of about 15 seconds.

Energy Efficient

The power input required by the nitrogen gas sensors for operation is very low which reduces the energy consumption.

Individual Calibrated

For higher accuracy and precision, the sensor is individually calibrated.

Соответствует RoHS

The nitrogen Dioxide sensor is free from toxic and hazardous substances and is in compliance with ROHS.

Technology We Use

What technology is being used in Nitrogen Dioxide Sensor?

The Nitrogen Dioxide gas sensors are based upon electrochemical gas sensing technology. The technology is based upon oxidation and reduction. The current is generated between the working and counter electrode whenever the gas flows over the sensor. Working and counter electrodes are connected with an ion conductor. This generated current gives the concentration of Nitrogen Dioxide in the air. This has been a proven and accurate method of measuring the concentration of NO2.

NO2 Sensor Calibration

The calibration of sensor is done under certain standard environmental conditions which are 23 + 3oC temperature, 50 + 15% relative humidity, 0.9-1.1atm pressure and air velocity of 0.05m/s. Comparison between standard measurement and observed measurement with your device is called calibration. Nitrogen dioxide is exposed in a range of interest and as a reference for calibration NIST standard of gas cylinder is used.

Health & Environmental Impacts of NO2 Gas

NO2 is part of the NOx group of highly reactive gases. whereas NO2 is a brownish acidic gas with and pungent odor. It reacts with O2 to form nitric acid responsible for corrosion and also plays role in the formation of other pollutants like smog, PM, and acid rain. It is a flame accelerator but itself not combustible

The most observed side effect of NOX is respiratory problems. It can cause asthma if exposed for a very long period. For short exposure, it can cause:

— Reduced immunity
— Breathing problem
— Asthma
— Heart failure
— Forms other compounds like PM and ozone which in themselves are bad
— Altered lungs function
— Irritation in airways
— Coughing, breathing difficulty, wheezing
— Cardiovascular problems, reduced birth weight, high risk of premature death

Environment effects are severe due to excessive concentration of this gas:

— Acid rain by forming an acidic compound with moisture present in the air
— Hazy air (smog)
— Polluting water
— Participate in the formation of Ozone
— Particulate (PM) formation
— Reaction with NO and other chemicals leads to formation of PM and ozone.
— Acts as a stressor to plants and results in chlorophyll content reduction.
— Affects vegetation, foliage
— Reduced growth of crops and plants
— Equal contributor in acid rain
— Nutrient pollution in coastal water bodies

Sources Of NO2 Gas:

NO2 is present in the environment in a very small quantity but due to our excessive use of resources and other activities, nitrogen dioxide level is increasing to a troublesome level. There are both natural and manmade causes of the formation of the no2 gas.

Natural causes include:

— Volcano eruption or active volcanic sites.
— Oceans
— Biological decay of waste for fertilizer
— Lightning induces heat and charge in the atmosphere which facilitates the formation of the NO2 gas.

Manmade means of production of NO2 gas are:

— Car, truck, boots, and airplane emissions
— Power plants
— Fertilizer especially ammonia production produces a lot of NOx gases as aby product
— Kerosene and gas stoves
— Diesel-powered heavy-duty machines have been known to increase not only NO2 but many other pollutants

Corrective Measures To Reduce NO2

The primary preventive measure is to monitor the concentration of NO2 which our Prana air sensor and Air quality monitors are quite useful. Other than that there are some corrective measures that could help us keep safe from the respiratory repercussion of this gas:

— Vehicles with low emission rates can help us with the reduced production of NO2

— Alternate fuels including hydrogen cells and electric-powered cars can be useful in bringing down the overall footprint of NO2 production.

— Avoid traffic congestion.

— Improving engines to be more efficient

— Using public transport

— Use of a closed environment for the production of fertilizer and processing of the gases produced in it.
