PAS-OUT-01 is a light-based digital laser sensor built for industry. It measures particulate matter, that is, dust particles. It comes with an inbuilt laser and a light-based receiving module. Unlike many other sensors, PAS-OUT-01 is set to tell PM10 and PM2.5 apart with accuracy. This is because it works on the principle of 90° light Spreading.

Know about each PM size

  • PM1

    PM1 refers to particles with a diameter of 1 micrometre or smaller. This includes nanoparticles and the emissions from burning. As a result, these particles can easily enter the blood flow and lead to health conditions.

  • PM2.5

    PM2.5 refers to fine particles with a diameter of 2.5 micrometres or smaller. Because of their tiny size, they are small enough to enter deep into the lungs, and they can lead to severe health issues.

  • PM10

    PM10 refers to particles in the air with a diameter of 10 micrometres or smaller. It includes dust, pollen and mould. These particles are large enough that most get trapped in the nose or throat, where they can cause allergies.

  • Particle Count

    Lastly, particle count is the total number of particles present in the air. It does not look at their individual sizes. Instead, it looks at the overall particle load, and takes in particles of all sizes.
