Indoor Pollution: How to Get Rid of Dust Mites in The Home?

  3. Indoor Pollution: How to Get…

Indoor Air Pollutiondust mites

When you talk about allergies most of the time, you think about pollen, cats, dogs, pet dander, dust, and even mold. But many times there is a dust mite allergy guilty for your allergy problems. Most of the time people just say they are allergic to dust and yes you can be allergic to dust and not to the dust mites, but most of the time people are allergic to little-naked eye invisible organisms instead.

There are many different types of dust mite species. These little organisms are feeding on our skin which we regularly lose every day. Old skin falls down while the new one grows, something like snakes does, but we humans, do it every day little by little. That skin pieces are dust mites food.

WHAT ARE DUST MITES?

Dust mites are arthropods who live near humans since the food they eat is provided by us. Millions of dust mites are in our homes, and we are living in harmony without problems unless there are allergic reactions to the dust mites. Then, unfortunately, we can no longer live, and we need to get rid of the dust mites as soon as possible.

These little bugs are sleeping with us inside our mattresses, they live under carpets, curtains or just hang on our furniture. They love to stay inside our homes because they have an unlimited source of food.

CAN YOU SEE DUST MITES?

Like already stated with a naked eye you can not see dust mites. These microscopic organisms are so small that you need a microscope to see them. If you do have a chance to see dust mites under the microscope you will see that they look like tiny spiders, they have legs and body of a spider. They have 8 legs but don’t have antenna or eyes, probably because they are living in a microscopic world and don’t need eyes to function properly.

To remove dust mites from indoors, you can install an air purifier that has HEPA filter. With the help of an air purifier, not only you can remove the dust mites but all the potential particle matter that can cause a number of health issues.
