Major Air Pollutants
When cinema halls and theaters are packed, the air barely moves, and pollution particles have nowhere to go, so they build up inside the enclosed space. Movie-goers then start to feel uneasy and unwell, and they come back less often. In short, the cinema hall loses money.
PM2.5
Fine dust particles & water droplets that hang in the air (2.5 microns across)
CO2
CO2 levels climb above the desired CO2 limits at times when the air does not move
TVOC
The fabric on the seats, plus wooden fittings, paints and carpets
HCHO
Aerosol sprays, perfumes and room fresheners are some of the likely sources
PM2.5
Carpet and clothing fibers, wear and tear of buildings
CO2
Respiration or breathing
TVOCs
Paints, carpets and disinfectants
Who Is at Risk?
People of all ages can be found in a cinema hall at the same time, but certain groups feel the impact far more than healthy adults would.
Respiratory Illness
Movie-goers and staff with respiratory or other illnesses already have weaker lungs and a weaker immune system.
Children
Children's organs are still developing, so exposure can hold back the growth of their tissue and cells.
Staff
Lower productivity, more days off work and poorer focus are some of the side effects of exposure.
Movie-Goers
Healthy adults can feel side effects such as headaches, dizziness, stuffiness and nausea.
Air quality Solutions
Prana Air's air quality monitors and purifiers let you see what your customers and staff breathe, and what you can do to clean the air. This helps you make your cinema hall an 'Air pollution-free zone', and you can view and analyze your IAQ.
Data Freemium Services
You can view or analyze the data on LCD screens or in the app via our customized dashboard, and scan the QR code to see the AQI of the cinema hall.
